Daddy came back home last night after being in Hawaii for a couple weeks visiting Popo and Uncle Joel and while Daddy was there he took some of Gerald's ashes and spread them around some special places on Oahu which is one of the most beautiful places in the world that Gerald never got a chance to visit. Come to think of it, I've never been there either, but Daddy showed me the pictures.
The first place Daddy put Gerald's ashes was over the side of the Nuuanu Pali, a big cliff on the southeast corner of the island of Oahu, and it looks like this:
It was very windy up there and Gerald's ashes went whoosh into the wind. The Daddy drove up the east coast of the island to the north shore and stopped at a beach near Haleiwa and put some of Gerald's ashes in the water on the rocks near the shore, and it looked like this:
Then on the next day Daddy went to the top of Punchbowl where there's a military cemetery in the crater of an extinct volcano and he put some of Gerald's ashes in the gardens there that look out over Honolulu:
And hearing about it made me very nostalgic for Gerald and it's only been about two months since he passed away...so I'm going to spend the rest of my day sitting in Daddy's lap or Uncle Kevin's lap and thinking about my brother who I miss so much.
